Cookie baking extravaganza! Due to measuring circumstances we ended up baking a full batch of Grimes cookies this year (that's twice as many as we would normally bake). The recipe for a full batch calls for 8 cups of flour and lots of lard (!!!!) and butter. Yikes! Thanks to grandma for monitoring the cookie cutting effort with Amelia and John, as assisting in this task would have made my head spin.
I was happy cooking other dishes in the kitchen and watching the fun from a short distance. :-)

Opening gifts Christmas day...
And I really loved the fact that John wore his Heat jersey for Christmas morning photos (not really!).
John is opening the Wii Skylanders game package below (he loves this game!).
And Amelia, opening her beloved Kindle. The girl is obsessed with her new Kindle!
And last but not least, John opening his gift from Amelia, a game for his DSI handheld gaming device. I believe it was Amelia's idea that this year she and John got to pick out gifts for their sibling. I loved this idea because I thought it was so sweet and thoughtful. I was happy to take Amelia on a shopping expedition for John's game a few days before Christmas.
So jealous you got lard cookies! Yum!
