Skating party!

Amelia attended her first skating party a few weeks ago, and this was much fun for both Amelia and for me too! Santa gave Amelia skates at Christmas this year, so she has had some practice on roller skates and at the party she held her own quite well. Amelia skated round and round dozens of times, excited about the opportunity to practice skating without the breaks in the sidewalk getting in her way. But what I enjoyed about the experience was the ambiance. This roller skating rink was circa 1970's. I mean this place was straight out of what I remembered from childhood skating parties. There was a tacky disco light in the center of the room and rock and roll music blaring from the speakers, plus minimal lighting and wood paneling on the walls. Snack bar with pizza and coke and cheese nachos, with little else. Amelia had a great time wth her classmates, and it was so much fun!
