Say you are vacationing on the coast of Mexico and you are looking for adventure. What should you do? I believe the answer is to go on a ziplining expedition, of course!
We arrived in Puerto Vallarta on Friday and spent that afternoon and evening relaxing poolside and having a nice dinner at our resort. This was all excellent, but by Saturday morning we were ready for an excursion. Scott selected a half-day ziplining trip into the jungle for our activity of the day.
We met up with our tour group at a convenience store just down the road from our hotel. The bus driver took us and 8 other guests on a half hour drive into the jungle. When we arrived at the stop we donned protective gear and headed out for the ziplines.

We climbed some stairs and rocky paths treading upwards to reach the higher points we would need to zipline down the mountain.

And then we were off. We were guided expertly down the mountain by two guides, and I have to say that the trip down was largely peaceful, yet exhilirating and fun at the same time. We travelled on 14 ziplines which traversed canyons and a river and beautiful moutainous areas which were really quite amazing. The photos below are of Scott travelling down the lines.

Each line had it's own name, some of which were funny.

The ziplines ended back at base camp, which was an area nestled on a riverbank. Guests on the trip could swim with the locals until the bus left for town.

Or opt out for a bite to eat in the shady restaurant on the banks of the river.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch of fresh quesadillas, guacamole and cervezas while overlooking this spectacular scenery before heading back to PV.
What a great day! I felt like a contestant on The Amazing Race, yet the whole experience was relaxing and tranquil at the same time.
