We had beautiful weather for five days straight with views of the lovely bay most of these days. Taking that into consideration along with many fun hours spent with family enjoying interesting activities, what's not to love?
On Saturday we enjoyed a baseball game at the Orioles ballpark. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the fans were filled with lots of fun baseball energy. 
The Orioles played the Boston Red Sox and it was St. Patrick's Day that day. The Red Sox wore green jerseys to commemorate the day and many of the fans wore outfits that celebrated the holiday as well. 
Mom and dad were working this game, so Amelia and John got to see the ticket office and see their grandma and grandpop working in action. We posed for a family photo before the kids and I took our seats in the stands.

Another morning we had fun at the Sarasota Kids' Science Museum. The museum was small yet well-done. It was the perfect venue for my kids to spend a few hours learning and playing. Below John is using his hands to create electrical currents on the energy ball.
One of the coolest parts about the science center were the racing blocks. Two racing lanes were set adjacent to each other with blocks for the runners' feet towards the back of the two lanes. You could race against an opponent and the time clock would capture who was the faster runner. Below grandpop is instructing John on how to position his feet in the racing blocks.
And then they raced! It's hard to see above, but John had a time of 2:10 and grandpop had a time of 2:13. The four of us - Amelia, John, grandpop, and myself - raced against each other dozens of times to see who was the fastest short-distance runner. This was super fun!
Another afternoon while grandma and grandpop were working, the kids and I went to the Sarasota Marine Science Center. This was another nice attraction that was perfect for spending a few hours on a sunny afternoon. We saw many animals, including manatees, turtles, a dolphin, penguins, and dozens of types of fish, seahorses, eels, etc.
Amelia and John really enjoyed touching the sting rays and other marine life that were accessible.

And look how tall Amelia is compared to different types of penguins! Spring Break was perfectly low-key and relaxing for Amelia, John, and me. We enjoyed lots of good fun in the bright Florida sunshine. We had fun spending time with grandma and grandpop, Aunt Laura, Uncle John, Jack and Henry. Who knows - should mom and dad decide to work for the Orioles next year we may be back for a visit again.
