Here are some photos from the annual bike rodeo held at Amelia and John's elementary school. The dad's club hosts this fun event which is designed to teach kids about the importance of being safe while riding bikes and scooters. The kids get to navigate a special riding course that contains ramps, bubble wrap, obstacles (like riding zig-zagged through staggered cones), and balloon archways. Below Amelia is getting ready to take the course for the first time.
This was John's first year to ride in the bike rodeo. Kindergarten students get to watch the older kids but can't actually ride themselves until first grade. John was proud and excited to participate this year!
At the end of the day all the kids get to enjoy watching a bicycle stunt show. Apparently the bicycle stuntmen do all sorts of tricks on the street out back, including stunts like flipping the bikes in circles above the principal while she is lying down on the street. What fun for all the kiddos to enjoy!
How do they keep track of all the kids bikes parents bring to school? Yikes! Looks really fun though!
