Bedford Splash

Last weekend we discovered a new community pool and water park in our area. This place was called Bedford Splash and was located in Bedford, about a 30-minute drive west of Dallas towards Fort Worth. Given that the temperature was a high of 107 degrees last Sunday, a trip to the pool sounded like a refreshing idea. I love these community pools with slides and other amenities, and which only cost $6 or $8 per person to get in.

And look at these slides! I can attest that the twister slide (yellow and orange below) was quite fun.
And the tornado slide (blue and white below) was a little bit scary. Well, scary for me, but I am a wimp. The blue slide on the left was at such a downward angle (and was enclosed so it was dark) that I was not happy going down it. But once I got to the drum below the speed calmed down a bit.

The kids and I had fun on the slides and we all enjoyed swimming in the larger lap pool, but the kids' favorite was probably these lily pads below. The lily pads were anchored to the bottom of the pool and each kid had to control the rope and their balance to cross over the pool on the lily pads.
John is above and Amelia is below. At the kids' urging, I tried the lily pads. And I have to say it was much more challenging than expected.
And finally, a photo of John in the lazy river. The lazy river was a kids' favorite as well.
We enjoyed our day at Bedford Splash and will definitely be back in the future!
