The Arboretum decorates and changes many of their plants seasonally, and they offer fun family-oriented exhibits each fall, spring, and winter holiday season. With the idea of trying to get in the spirit of fall (hard when it has been so unseasonably warm here lately), the kids and I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon exploring the Arboretum.
The decor ranged from the addition of minor details, like the pumpkins lining the walkway below...
...to gorgeous displays of fall color. This one had multiple layers of orange, red, yellow, and pink, with the impatiens, crotons, and pumpkins blended against the green base.
And then there were the pumpkins! Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere! The photo below shows one of the beds of gourds (the grey outline below), where if you look carefully the few gourds piled on top of the others, some in green, were meant to look like swans floating on the lake of grey. In the background you can see one of the five pumpkin houses, where the interior of each house was decorated with fancy pumpkins as well.
I loved the blend of colors in this bed of different types of pumpkins and gourds.
And below my beauties are posing for the obligatory photo with pumpkins. Ah, I am sure that Amelia and John really appreciate having a mom who is obsessed with getting seasonal shots each and every season every year. I am proud of it though as looking back on these photos makes me smile.
I love your little man in UnderArmour!
