Amelia and John's elementary school held their annual Boosterthon fundraiser last week. The children are challenged to collect pledges from family and friends for the number of laps they can run around a track set up on the school's lawn. The laps are about 1/16 of a mile and kids are challenged to run up to 35 laps. The event stagers set up a carnival-like atmosphere on the morning of the Boosterthon with live music, motivating messages, and tons of friendly spirit. Parents are invited to cheer on their children as they complete their laps.
The back of Amelia's t-shirt (above) demonstrates that she completed all 35 laps!
Below is John's class at the pep rally staged just a few minutes before the children begin running.
John ran while wearing his official Boosterthon sunglasses.
John is on the far left in the photo below after running through one of the tunnels on the racetrack.
So why did I title this post "Boosterthon 2012 and cats"? John brought home this paper from school last week. He was asked to draw a picture and fill in the following blanks for this sentence: "_________ don't _____________".So what did John draw and write to complete this sentence? "Cats don't wear Heat jerseys."
As his teacher remarked, "Original"!
Great teacher comment!
