The children and I attended the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper at church tonight. We had a good time and I was especially pleased to see that Amelia wanted to understand why we eat specific foods on the night before Lent.
Besides having fun dousing their pancakes in more syrup that I thought was humanly possible, Amelia and John had fun with the table decorations. Mardi gras masks and colorful beads were placed around the tables for the children to enjoy. Amelia and John thought they were awesome and they requested that I take their photo like this.
The tables were also covered with butcher paper and the church staff had set out crayons for coloring. Without being prompted, Amelia drew a picture of our family.
I absolutely adore this drawing. And the fact that Amelia took the initiative to draw our family rather than something else. I am so proud of my sweet Amelia!
