All of my posts lately have described vacation-related, extraordinary activities. We are so lucky to have had an amazing summer filled with fun traveling experiences! But here's what we have been up to on a more regular basis now that we are back in Dallas for the foreseeable future.
Amelia and John did not have school on Labor Day, so we took this opportunity to enjoy a family trip to the Dallas Arboretum. This was the first time the kids and I have been to the Arboretum in about a year, and the first time both Amelia and John have been to the new children's garden area together.
Look at the peacock in the photo below. This topiary was so pretty!
Climbing the rope wall in a treehouse in the Children's Garden area.
Pausing for a technology break in the treehouse area. I am so glad we went to the Arboretum early because it was really crowded by the time we left.
Taking a break from the heat outdoors to play on the touchpad tables in the indoor learning center.
We spent a lot of time in the water area. John is working hard to fill up the cylinder with water by turning the wheels to manipulate the water upwards.
An annual tradition at our elementary school is the Bike Rodeo! John is lined up to ride with his class in the photos below.
And finally, a few videos from our trip to the Lil' Ninjas gym in Dallas. If you have watched the show American Ninja Warrior, you know that the show is a competition among participants to complete obstacles that are extremely physically demanding. Apparently Dallas is one of the cities to have the first of the Lil' Ninja gyms, where parents can pay to let their kids enjoy the obstacle courses that are similar to the America Ninja Warrior obstacle courses.
The videos below are short and funny to watch! I was so proud of Amelia and John for the full-force effort they gave to the obstacles in the Lil's Ninjas gym.
